Ministry and Fellowship at Monona

Members and friends of Monona Lutheran Church build their faith and serve the Lord through fellowship activities, adult classes, and work in the community. Here's a sampling of our groups and service opportunities.

Groups:

Faith Exploration:

TLC (Tender Loving Care) Groups - 2nd and 4th Tuesdays or Thursdays

Children's Sunday School during the school year

     Adult Information Classes - Wednesdays

3rd grade Bible program (each fall)

     Confirmation Classes (6th - 8th grades)

The Prayer Chain: This is a vital ministry at Monona as we support one another and our families and friends in prayer. Prayer concerns are given and sent along in a telephone chain.

Vacation Bible School: This takes place each summer for study, games, music, food and fun for children pre-K - 6th grade.

LWML: The women of Monona are a supporting society of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. The LWML is the official women's society of the LCMS, supporting missions in the US and abroad. Visit the South Wisconsin District LWML website at www.lwml-swd.org to learn more.

Quilting: Quilters meet the first and third Thursdays each month at 9 a.m. to work on quilts for the Orphan Grain Train and other needs.

Food Pantry: Items are collected and taken to the St. Stephens food bank to help reach out to our community and its needs.

Advent and Christmas: In addition to the special worship during Advent and the Christmas season, we gather for Christmas Caroling, church decorating, and many more Christmas activities.

Lent and Easter: At Monona, we have mid-week Lenten services all leads to the best time of the year to be in church...to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

TLC (Tender Loving Care) Groups: More than a Bible study it is all about people taking care of people in real physical and spiritual ways. We kick off each fall and close for the summer in June with an "All Are Welcome BBQ" at a comfortable home.
